Linton on Ouse is a small village to the north of York close to the banks of the River Ouse. It is a friendly community with a pub which is an important part of the village life. The RAF set up a base at the village in 1937, and it was an important flying school for new recruits.
The village boasts a beautiful Village Hall available to hire for events. Behind the Village Hall the Parish Council maintain a large playing field with a recently refurbished play area. There is a bustling primary school with an Ofsted 'Good' rating, and the nearby listed Linton Lock building has a lovely Cafe with a full menu and bar.
An annual event - LintonFest - sees huge numbers of residents enjoying family entertainment and a quality beer tent, while raising funds that help support the village.
The RAF have moved out, and there are currently many changes happening in this small village, but the future looks very bright.
