From Annington Homes:
Executive Summary
Annington launched the first phase of the Linton Collection in September 2025 as part of its commitment to delivering much-needed rental properties to Linton-on-Ouse, providing homes for local residents and attracting families back to the area. There have been 37 properties refurbished and released to the local community to date.
Progress Update
• Around 25 homes are occupied currently, with steady levels of enquiries for future releases.
• The refurbishment works on Maple Grove and White Rose are due to be completed in late summer this year.
• A further phase comprising of 40 newly refurbished three- and four-bedroom homes at Linton Place and The Paddocks are due for a phased launch to the rental market in early summer.
• Properties on The Green are likely to be released to the open market at a later date.
• As a reminder, footpath access to Linton Meadows will be closed for construction works at some point in the near future. This is likely to be for a period of two weeks and confirmed dates will be issued in due course with plenty of notice to minimise disruption.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement
• Art Exhibition: Annington supported pupils at Linton-on-Ouse Primary School through the donation of art materials, contributing to the delivery of the school’s annual art exhibition and supporting local creative initiatives.
• Site Visits: An invitation to view The Paddocks for the PC and any interested local residents will be shared in due course.
From DIO (Andrew Pullen-Jones):
Initial plans to dispose of the
RAF Linton site in 25/26 have been put on hold by DIO whilst we investigate the
opportunity for other uses for the site.
We have undertaken a great deal of work in the past 12-18 months and continue to do so this year, working with partners to advise on the best disposal strategy for the site.
Government priorities for the delivery of housing on government owned sites is something we are required to support if we are able to and this with other uses is being considered by DIO.
I want to be able to give the Councils an update and better engage and will as soon as I have something to discuss with you.
From Sqn Ldr David Hicks:
In terms of the RAF, we are still
awaiting a firm date for the decommissioning of the radar. At the last LPC I
mentioned the radar’s licence was rumoured to expire May 26, apparently not,
it’s end of May 27. The latest plan is to conduct a Site Specific Acceptance
and Commissioning Board that accepts the new improved radar at RAF Leeming
towards the end of May (2026), then a transition period to use the new
equipment wef 12 Jun 26 with a revision period to end late Jun/early Jul.
Assuming all goes well then the Linton radar should not be needed after this
point allowing me 4-6 weeks to complete my final Works in Aid and handover to
DIO (Andrew Pullen-Jones and his colleagues) late Aug / early Sep 26. However,
as you know, I’ve been here a while now and my confidence in Air Traffic
Engineers completing tasks on time continues to remain low but this time
fingers crossed.
In the meantime, and thanks to my VIVO colleagues, we continue to keep the site as safe as possible and buildings ‘wind and weatherproofed’ as best we can within our budgets. We have erected some additional Heras fencing to deter individuals scrabbling through hedgerows surrounding the play park in White Rose Close. We’ve had some BT engineers in to remove various batteries supporting previously used datalinks and the RAF Police have removed a safe and wall mounted security boxes for repurposing at RAF Leeming.
On more broader matters; the draining of the foundations in the Broadacres development onto our site seems to have been completed. No more news heard on that relayed at the last LPC when Annington Homes are to release the houses on The Paddock and then The Green, as work appears to continue at pace on the Linton Place properties. In terms of future use of the site I know Andrew Pullen-Jones, DIO has dropped you a few lines and will engage further when he has something definitive to say.
Finally, whilst I personally searched many areas of the camp, along with our Guard Service, I’m sorry to hear about the demise of the missing cat (found I believe at the back of the Community Centre). It’s never easy losing a precious animal and part of the family make up.
